Thank you for your quick answer. It seems that Avast! is the source of
my issue, considering that disabling the "scan program when executing"
option solved the issue. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Nonetheless,
I can confirm that, when this option is checked, the small circle is
not displayed in the center of the screen, Avast! is not waiting for
any confirmation with a background window, and I have not found any
error in the Event Viewer so far. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
