Subject [Frogans technology - Frogans-awards] Frogans Tip for Day -4
To frogans-awards@lists.frogans.org
Date Fri, 03 Jun 2016 23:38:14 UTC

In the spirit of the Frogans Awards, I'm submiting, here and on the
Frogans Awards Mailing List, a Frogans authoring tip each day through
June 6th, the day before the submission deadline.
So, with just four days to submit your Fro-creation...

Frogans Tip for Day -4
Avoid text over a transparent background
Since you can never be sure of the color of the desktop object behind a
Frogans site, you can never be sure if text hovering over the object
will be readable.
If you want to maintain some transparency behind a piece of text, you
can put a semi-transparent background behind it.
Make the color of the semi-transparent background the inverse of that
of the text. For instance, if the text is white, make the background a
semi-transparent black. And if the text is black, make the background
semi-transparent white.

Frogans Tip for Day -5
Keep your buttons away from the edges, whenever possible.
When browsing a Frogans site on the desktop, you can resize the site by
clicking on the edge and dragging the mouse toward and away from the
center of the slide. There's a zone around the edge of each slide that
is reserved for resizing the site. So any part of a button overlaps
with that zone, will be used by the mouse to resize the site and not
for activating the button.
