At the official opening ceremony for the 2029 class of engineering students at
Télécom Paris, the OP3FT will officially become today one of the two sponsors
of the class.
The role of a class sponsor is to support engineering students throughout their
studies and help them gain a better understanding of the professional world.
Building on its experience in developing Frogans, the OP3FT now seeks to
disseminate this approach to creating open standards to a new generation of
engineers, showing them that it is possible, notably from France and through
entrepreneurial initiatives, to help shape the Internet by moving from the role
of standards consumer to that of standards producer.
More than 500 students, including students enrolled in advanced master's
programs and PhD candidates, will benefit from this partnership.
Télécom Paris is a founding member of Institut Polytechnique de Paris and a
member of the Institut Mines-Télécom. The Institut Mines-Télécom is a
top-ranked public institution of higher education in the French Grandes Ecoles
tradition, under the trusteeship of the French Ministry for the Economy and
Finance.
